Firefox Browser

12 May 2004 No Comment

After resisting for a while now I recently switched to Mozilla Firefox browser (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
This is a free open-source browser based on the mozilla code base.

It’s got tabbed browsing, a decent set of themes and it’s fast. It’s also a lot tidier on the desk than IE. It’s amazing how much space is wasted in IE with the buttons and menus. I can’t really do the features justice in this short blog but I highly recommend you check it out.

UPDATE: The more I use it, the more I like it. One nice feature is the ability to navigate links without the mouse. Yes, without the mouse. You simply type the first few letters of any link you see on a page and it gets highlighted, press return to follow the link.
The only shortcoming is the lack of integrated windows authentication. IE will log me into intranet sites based on my domain credentials, Firefox will not :(
