Never buy a Volkswagen

18 January 2004 No Comment

Never buy a Volkwagen. Yesterday the list of problems with my “new” Jetta grew once again. Here’s a recap:
1) Got the vehicle home, noticed there was no paint on a dime sized piece of the trunk lid. Had to leave the vehicle in for a week to get repainted. The dealer never stuck back the lettering on the trunk.
2) Oil consumption test. I found the car was bone dry of oil one afternoon. Had to go back 4 times to the dealer to complete an oil consumption test.
3) CD Changer has died.
4) Brakes and rotors wore out after 22,000 miles, 15,000 miles early at least.
5) Car got stuck in Park at a traffic light on the way to the doctors office. Turned out it was a faulty brake light switch.
6) Got a loaner car from the dealer with a joint in it. The dealer accused my wife that it was hers.
7) Yesterday the ABS light came on and has not gone out. Whatever the heck that means it made us late for my brother in law’s graduation.

I just got off the phone with VW, they told me and I quote: “I can’t guarantee anything, there are no guarantees”.

Here’s more reasons why you should never buy a Volkswagen.
