Mix’06 Keynote: Vista + BBC = Cool

20 March 2006 2 Comments

Another WOW day. Whilst Marc Mercuri was kind enough to offer me a free pass to Mix’06 I couldn’t make it. I did catch Bill’s Keynote speech though on http://blog.mix06.com/virtualmix/. You really don’t need to go to these conferences anymore. When will we have a virtual conference with a fake-audience?

So the reason for the WOW was the demo of the BBC’s work on Vista and their associated plans to release 600,000 hours of archive footage over the web. Can’t wait until we get Reeves and Mortimer archive episodes. Vista keeps looking better and better and should make for a really neat experience although I shudder at the hardware requirements.
