My Side of the Mountain Gone Mad

18 February 2006 No Comment

In the movie “My Side of the Mountain”, a young boy runs away from home to live in a tree and grow algae to make soup.

Sometimes you have to marvel at science. The good lads over at New Scientist are reporting a Robot Controlled by Slime.

Basically you have a type of slime, or fungus, that likes the dark and dislikes the light.

They hooked it up to a 6 legged robot somehow and began shining light. The result?

The robot moves away from the light, effectively controlled by the slime.

Seems to me this is being mean to the slime. They’re building a product entirely reliant on the fear the slime has for light.

So in the future, will we see a new label on our robots: “No slime was scared in the making of this product” ?
