Vanishing Point Game

27 December 2006 One Comment

A bunch of bloggers have received free laptops from AMD and Microsoft, pre-loaded with windows Vista. Acer Ferrari’s no less. I have seen two of these in the flesh and can attest that they are "so choice". Anyway, that’s not the point of the post.

Anyone that got one (I assume mine’s lost in the post) also received a little box, with a USB key inside from a person calling themselves "Loki" (Loki Laufeyjarson is the mythical being of mischief in Norse mythology)

The key has a few files, indicating the recipient is part of a game. Namely, the http://www.VanishingPointGame.com

Each player has received encoded messages of varying types, all of which are posted at the game’s impromptu wiki [LINK]. There’s also a weird message over at the IE blog [LINK] in the bottom-right of the page.

Folks are also playing along at this thread over at NeoWin [LINK].

There are some solutions posted at the Wiki, which indicate an event of some kind taking place at the Bellagio Fountains on the 8th of January, 2007 at 6:30PM Pacific.

I wonder what’s going to happen?
