Digital Asset Search

Who died and said search always had to be by keyword?
I want to be able to search by a file, a digital asset. I’d like the content to be analyzed and have people give me back similar content.

Say a portion of an MP3, and find similar MP3s.  Similar how? Maybe songs with the same beat. Or songs with a similar set of instruments etc.

How about images. I’d like to upload an image and find images that look similar. Not like searching for a dog and getting pictures of dogs. I’d like to search for pictures with grass in the foreground, sun in the top left and a person on the right. Can we have that?  Semantic web won’t deliver that.

When can we have that?
